fun in new york + 2005 recap

well hello people! yes, i changed my layout again, most only because it's not christmas anymore .. so yeah, kinda had to put something for the new year, yeah? wow, i can't believe that it's already the end of 2005! what happened to my year!? hahaha. i decided to write again because this is probably going to be my last post of the new year .. and plus it doesn't hurt that i actually have something to write about and all that good stuff. haha. christmas was pretty cool .. and pretty hectic too, i went to like 3 gatherings in the span of those 2 days. on like 4 hours of sleep too. haha. oh man, midnight mass was so long .. ahahhaha .. but to everyone, i hope you had a super fantastic christmas and got everything you wanted/needed/deserved! lol.

so the day before yesterday [december 27] i hit up new york city with christine the homeslice and gillian the lady. lol. it was pretty frickin awesome .. we went to the museum of modern art which was soo cool because i got to see andy warhol, roy lichtenstein, and picasso and monet in real life! whAat! i felt so honored to be in the presence of greatness. and after getting immersed in modern arts and culture, we hit up random stores on 5th ave and ate @ patsy's [i think] -- some cute little pizzeria on lexington. and then! we went to this frickin awesome dylan's candy bar -- oh man it was candy heaven. but there were too many little kids so i kinda didn't have the patience [or will to spend $12 on a candy container lol] to buy anything in there. though i saw this frickin awesome shirt that said eye candy on it. oh man it was so cute. i wanna have my birthday party there! watch it cost like $102938102938102. poo! maybe after i graduate .. or maybe if i have a buttload of money for my 21st birthday .. he he he .. =) and then we hit up the subway and went to SoHo .. which is pretty frickin awesome .. they have stores in there with madd onitsuka tiger asics and one piece dunks and other nice pieces of expensive merchandise! oh man. next time i will have to pull something out of my broke ass ho budget so i can reeeeallly go shopping in new york. who knew the cost of living there was so high!? oh man! this is probably why i live in new jersey. the state with no tax on clothes. yeah! and i sure did love the all-day pass metro card i got. too bad i forgot to find out how much i had on my other metro card .. oh wells. lol. and it's gonna expire too! whaaaat .. oh wells. haha. and then my mom freaked a freak when it was about 8 pm [i know right?! 8:00 pm!!? go figure lol] and we hit up to head back to penn station to go back to good old new jersey. at least i can say i did something this break .. lol .. i hope to go back again before i have to go back to good old school. so who wants to come?

++ so anyways .. if you didn't know by now, captain obvious would slap you in the face and tell you that today is my birthday! ahahahha. it was a fun day today .. i realized that i don't have a picture with my first super party-er supersam, because she had to leave early and i kinda forgot. :sadness: but it's okay .. supersam! we needa take a pic for this! my sociology exam just sucked, you can even ask her, so to drown our worries we went to menlo to kill time [we got out at like 830 am and killed time and went to menlo by 930 am] and had coldstone and wandered around the mall. much fun! and sam was cracking up because i was looking for acetone at home depot and i almost got hit by a car. ahahhaha .. but i copped some, some from harmon.. woopie! now i can get started soon on my sneaker project. top secret! hahaha. and then, i had cool people come over and eat food in my house .. apparently it's some kind of tradition to have "handa" [a meal] on your birthday and celebrate it and stuff. well i did, even ate my pancit [noodles for long life] and just stayed home the whole day. yeah! it was funny because i told people to come if they could -- it's exam week at rutgers and everyone's schedule is just f'ed up before break -- so people were showing up in shifts. it was madd fun to spend time with people you love just doing nothing. =) yesterday i was watching some special with barbara walters and she was talking about "where is heaven? how do we get there?" and the end point was that heaven was a place where you were peaceful and happy. so like that song said -- my favorite one by dj sammy & yanou -- i guess that was a piece of heaven. [hell yeah, i got mushy/deep on you huh? ahahhaah ..] it's times like these that remind you of how great it is to be with people you love. especially after a bitch-ass finals week. which may i add, i am not free, i hate you stupid intro to microeconomics. oh man, my stomach sure does hurt from eating all that food. tomorrow i shall truly be free .. and hopefully the MTA will come to a solution so i can go have a little fun in new york. =) who knew the news was so mesmerizing? hahaha .. and wowowee too. i have been brainwashed by filipino television. lol. i have more pics from today .. but still have to sort them and facebook them/webshots them etc etc etc ..

hi i'm BORED

wow so usually i'd wait before writing another post in my site but you know what! I'M SO FRICKEN BORED! i thought that i reached the pinnacle of boredom sitting in my intro to microeconomics class but no -- i felt so fricken bored today! geez! first it snowed like a mother [well at least mother nature wanted to make it seem like it snowed like a mother] and so i just skipped orgo recitation because you know, who wants to drive in that white fluffy stuff they call snow. not me, well, not my mom and not my dad too. haha. so i woke up and yeah, feeling like woo! snow! and then you know the 2 crazy kids across the street had no school [it's sick bishop ahr closes school like that :snaps fingers: and when you go to rutgers it takes like 10 feet to get classes cancelled for the day] and so after the snow magically stopped i went across the street and made mary come out and play in the snow with me. well, first, we shovelled her driveway and then we made a snowman and then some snow angels too. it was weird because like you'd be expecting it to be really really cold -10 degrees outside and ironically it was pretty warm. then again, i was wearing 5 layers. he he he. me and mary's snowman [actually mary calls ours like a snow baby because it's kind of little haha] was mad nice -- it had like 3 parts to it and it rocked my hat and scarf. to which i got a headache from the cold weather. lol .. i sure do love snow people. haha. and then, i went inside, and did nothing, and was bored. and by bored i mean really really bored. i tried everything -- ate, napped, studied, played the piano -- but eh, i just really didn't feel like doing anything or going anywhere. so i was bored but too lazy to do anything. what a horrible combination. what a waste of a day i didn't even do anything but play a computer online game -- smacky the squirrel! sure does get those frustrations out when youre smacking happy happy squirrels .. and zuma too! oh man. but i managed to get some studying done for social psychology -- `cause you know, exams are in a couple of days and soon -- [11 days to be exact!] my first semester of sophomore year will be OVER! HALE-FREAKING-LLUiAH! it will definitely be time to celebrate after my last exam, person! oh man oh man, it's so close and yet so far. and then i can work on my special sneaker project [provided that my crystals come in time! yikes!] woopie!
darn, i still have to go christmas shopping.. with the little money i have i need to cop a couple of presents here and there .. especially for my godchildren -- cinderella and.. money! haha. come to think of it, i want some cookies and milk. and some hot chocolate. at red lion cafe at rutgers they have maddd good hot chocolate there with the works and shit and it's like $1.50. mmmmm yum. i don't even know what i'm doing tomorrow [today, depending what the time stamp is on this post haha] because supposedly there's a party in St. Matthew for SMPAA and eh .. line dancing! hahaha. gotta love those random Filipino parties. with random people ..
oh man i could go for some candy canes too. there are some kick ass candy canes by starburst they taste like fruit punch. and then hershey's they have chocolate mint candy canes. i donated money to the toys for tots in menlo mall just so i could get the free candy cane. of course i wanted to like help the old man's cause but you know. there were candy canes there! and i had spare change! so i got the free standard peppermint red and white ones. when i eat those i really feel like it's christmas. man you could get sick off those things. but then it gets all played out and shit. i'm gonna get like the super fantastic candy canes and give them out to people and be like "happy freakin christmas man have a candy cane." but then again they have like these rainbow candy canes and like .. you wanna eat them, but it looks kind of freaky because like, who really has rainbow colors when you celebrate christmas. it kind of looks like a candy cane on like exstacy or some shit like that. the only rainbow christmas junk i know is like, the parol we have outside. but yeah, i never really liked those candy canes cuz they look way too freaky. i mean i like the green, red, and white ones. now those are some hot shit. they just taste weird after you eat about .. 10 of them at a time. yeah, not good. and then when i was little we used to put candy canes on our christmas tree and then not eat them .. what a waste of candy. haha .. it would be like january 5 or something and like you know you don't wanna be eating some old ass candy cane that's been there.
oh man i love christmas candy. it's like halloween candy but better because like .. i don't know. it has this cool foil wrapping on it and they even come out with special candies and flavors. like hershey's they come out with mint kisses wrapped in green checkered kisses foil. i miss how when i was in grammar school we used to have christmas parties and like get these special bags filled with christmas candy and then they would yell at us and be like "you can't eat the candy now you have to eat it at home." now you all know you ate the candy right then and there and when you got home there wasn't much candy left. lol. but it was still fricken awesome. too bad we don't have those in college. free candy in class! that would be fricken awesome. i be like, hell yeah! oh wells. i think i need to hit up shoprite or something and get me some christmas candy. even the little crispy crunch things that look like santa. but then i feel bad because i like bit off santa's head. darn, i can never win. lol. mmmmm .. choco yummies ..
you know what else is good -- umm, pan fried noodles. wow, i really want some of that too. i hope we get to eat that at christmas in mary's house and we get the good stuff from china bowl. mmmm .. pan fried noodles .. okay wow i sound like some kind of hungry starving child. and i'm not even hungry. wow ..
and you know what else i want to get a christmas tree. what kind of ghetto family doesn't even have a christmas tree for christmas. mine! haha. i mean we have a small fiber optic tree but it's like in the freakin window. i want like one that i can put presents under! someone get me a christmas tree so that i can put it in my house. haha .. no rockefeller trees tho. joke joke! maybe i'll just buy one from rag shop or something. small, and i'll decorate it all for myself. yeay christmas!
did i mention i like MYMP. okay i did now. man oh man i should have asked someone to get me their cd from the philippines. they are so freakin awesome. when i go to the philippines i'm gonna see them in concert man. them and parokya ni edgar. man oh man .. ahahha ..

it's that time again

well hello everyone! wow, so here i am, wasting time that i could be using to study my substitution nucleophilic bimolecular reactions [try saying that 3 times fast `;P] LOL .. joke joke, i'm sure organic chemistry can wait while i update my weblog and write a little bit in here. as you can see i finally got the motivation to change my layout .. i really liked my teen titans layout but i think i had to change it so you know, i could be in tune with the season and everything. in church today the monsignor in guardian angels was tellin all the people how in the stores they won't allow the employees to say "merry christmas" to the customers .. and i really thought about it and i was like, yeah that sucks .. ! he said that if it wasn't for Jesus there would be no Christmas in the first place -- my Jewish friend even told me that the only reason chanukkah [sp?] is so big is because of christmas and the Jewish people didn't want to feel left out. and she said i think -- yom kippur and passover were way bigger holidays in the Jewish calendar. food for thought, huh? so at least, i'm gonna say merry christmas to people .. unless you're buying presents for "holiday" .. i think i feel more comfortable saying merry christmas. even if you're not christian you should still be able to get the good wishes from my religion. so there. `;P

ironically i've been going out more and more as the year comes to a close .. i thought after my last spree i'd be staying home for quite a while because after all .. all this going out gets pretty tiring. but then again, being by yourself can only be fun for so long -- trust me on this one. haha. and these past 2 events were planned for in advance so i couldn't really not go. haha. it's funny that as soon as i quit my job, people started to give me a lot of reasons why i shouldn't be working on the weekends -- "angelica! there's a party this weekend! and then next weekend there's this! and then after that is this!" wow .. i feel so special. and social. woopie! =) haha. but then again, there's also my weekly exam schedule that starts from next week until the 21st -- yes, as i've been saying, i do have an exam on my birthday. yuck! so i think i'll have to be cutting back on the weekend sprees so i can actually get shit done on those days. as well as all the other days in the week. ahhh school, books, yuck. hey, that's life for you in college. unless you don't care.. and that's a different story ..

so last week i had 2 parties to go to on the same day -- first was my godson jeremy's birthday party, and then was pretty princess mae's sweet sixteen. sure was one hectic day ..

at jeremy's party, i never felt more old in my life. haha. every day i get teased at for being "so young" [after all, i'm only going to be 19 while everyone else is 20+ haha] but that day, i was actually 15+ years older than a good number of the guests at the party. haha. all the kids were so cute, especially my godson, who if you glanced at him quickly, you would think he was a white kid/mixed. lols! joke joke, he's still so cute. they had a person come in to dress up like elmo and entertain the children, and it was hilarious that all of the small children and babies started crying. i think they were all traumatized .. and it made me kind of glad that i never had some character like that at my birthday party because GOD knows i'd be freakin out at that age. but i gotta give the dude credit for trying .. at least you're wearing a character mask and when someone like me takes your picture, we can't fully humiliate you. just kidding ^_^ my godson was pretty funny -- he was pretty unaffected and the whole time he had this expression on his face like "what the hell is the big deal." no smiling, just chillen there the whole time while all of his contemporaries cried their lungs out. i couldn't help but just laugh the whole time at the whole scene. i still remember how it was when i was little, going to countless birthday parties of GOD-knows-who and playing with random children who were the sons/daughters of random family friends. i guess at that age you just needed random kids at your party because in your own family there weren't enough. and plus, you just wanted your kid to like, learn how to be social and make new friends as a little kid.. and then when i got older i forgot who i used to play with, and then i'd randomly see them again nowadays and be like -- didn't i used to play tag/hide-and-go-seek/run around/etc. etc. with you? and vaguely, the memories would come back. i want to see all of those little kids when they grow up in about 10-15 years.. who knows, they might end up dating or something. but then again, if your parents kinda know who you would be in to, it's a little uncomfortable. haha ..

then, after a mad dash home to change, mary, gabe, angelo, and i headed off to mae's sweet sixteen. personally i think i looked busted in all my pics, but hey, it was a cool hairstyle.. i think. haha. unlike me, mae looked positively gorgeous .. it stunned me to think how she used to be the young girl i would wave at when we were back in st. matthews. and look at her now, all grown up! haha. i think her party was just about the last sweet sixteen i had to go to for this point in my life .. you would think in college i was finished with these parties. haha. i think i was the oldest non-relative there [with the exception of johan and reggie -- they don't count because they're part of the whole crew of things. haha] mary & co. did a surprise dance for her that came out really nice .. they even did a mini-modern waltz to *nsync's "gone" that i kind of wish i got to dance in a cotillion. sometimes i wish i was in more cotillion things in high school .. i was basically in only 2 -- mine and mary's -- as well as a couple of modern/surprise dance things that i did too. eh, well, i still got to go to the parties and collect all the little figurines .. you should see the whole collection at my house. haha. when i have a daughter i hope she'll agree to have a sweet sixteen too .. some people think it's a waste of money but you know, i look back on mine .. and that's about the only day next to your wedding where you get treated like a star. it's pretty hot, unless you're not comfortable with all that attention. haha. and here are some more pictures .. and yesterday, i went to a college party at rutgers. well, first, i spontaneously went to applebee's with my homeslice .. it was weird because i had already eaten dinner, but hey, it was friday night. lol. applebee's was swarming with people .. it was a birthday celebration for christine's friend julian and i guess word got out prettyy fast lol. we didn't really eat, and we bounced, along with my neighbor randy [lol] and his friend chris. we ended up going to rutgers, out of nowhere, at some random party in the suites. it was pretty funny when i came home, my mom was making fun of me and she called me a party crasher because i didn't really know whose party i was at. but at the party, i think i finally realized and admit that you know what, i don't really mesh well with the whole college party scene. first, i don't drink .. and that's like the whole point of the party .. to get boozed up. i think i'm more conservative than people tend to remember .. i get offered drinks and i'm thankful that i have the strength to politely refuse. if you really want to know, i didn't have that much of a good time at that party that i was at [it's not like the dude is going to read this -- whoever's party it was -- after all, he doesn't even know me lol] and yeah, i'm glad i went home as early as i could. being there made me wish i was at a club -- even though clubbing is like $30+ dollars when i go and i'm ass broke at least i know i'm gonna have a way better time .. even with the wrinkly funny old 40+ year olds who are there. lols! so yeah, maybe i should be hitting the clubs up instead .. definitely no more college parties for me. i .. just .. don't .. like them. haha.

on a final note, i want to go to new york city before new year's eve. during medical sociology with super sam i found a metrocard on the floor. i want to see if anything's on it -- and if so, hey! free ride on the subway until new year's eve. ^_^ plus, i just want to go to new york in general .. just for fun .. even if i am a broke ass hoe. so do you want to come with me? seriously! =)
